ISLAMABAD — Renowned journalist and former managing director of Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) Masood Malik passed away on Tuesday after a protracted illness.
He was buried on Wednesday at the H-8 Graveyard, his son Momin Masood said.
Malik had 35 years of management and journalistic experience in various news organizations, including Nawa-e-Waqt, Express, Ausaf, Daily Dunya, and Pakistan Press International.
He was part of the analyst panel on current affairs on Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television.
Malik had strong interpersonal and communication skills. He was a regular columnist and had broad experience in media advertising campaigns.
During his career he covered the execution of former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in 1979, the general elections in 1985, 1988, 1991, 1994, 1997, 2001, 2008, 2013, and 2018.
He also interviewed leading Pakistani politicians, including various foreign dignitaries. — APP
