Former Executive Editor of The Muslim Ghani Jafar laid to rest

ISLAMABAD – Ghani Jafar, a Former Executive Editor of The Muslim (defunct) passed away in Islamabad Saturday. He was 64.

The News reported Monday that Jaffer had not been keeping well for quite some time. He was admitted to hospital and discharged Thursday after his condition improved somewhat.

He served in various national newspapers and publications before joining the Institute of Regional Studies and later the Institute of Strategic Studies as senior researcher. He also authored several books

Jafar had joined The Muslim, the first independent daily newspaper from Islamabad in the 1980s.

He was laid to rest at the H-11 Graveyard. The deceased leaves behind three daughters.
