Editor Ghulam Akbar passes away
Ghulam Akbar, a prominent figure in journalism, has died, leading to expressions of grief from political leaders. His contributions to media and impactful columns were widely recognized.

ISLAMABAD—Editor-in-Chief National Herald Tribune and Al Akhbar, Ghulam Akbar has passed away.

Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed grief and sorrow over the demise.

In a tweet, he said Ghulam Akbar was a media veteran and a man of strong convictions and principles.

In his condolence message, Federal Minister for Information & Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry also paid tributes to the services of Ghulam Akbar, saying he enjoyed a special place in journalism.

He pointed out that the readers always awaited his column ‘Aaj Ki Baat’ in Al-Akhbar.

Akbar was also a media consultant for the ruling PTI.
