ISLAMABAD: Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of National Assembly said Friday a draft bill for protecting media persons will be tabled in the House soon.
The News reported that he was speaking at a condolence reference at the Parliament House for the two cameramen killed in a bomb blast in Quetta. More than 70 people were killed in the attack at the Civil Hospital, mostly lawyers.
Sadiq said he will request the prime minister to set up an endowment fund for the welfare of journalist and their families. There will be a committee having representation of the Information Ministry and media organizations, he said.
He told the gathering he will ask the State Life to make a special package for insuring journalists.
