Dawn journalist posts list of media houses not paying wages to staff
Khaleeq Kiani, a correspondent for Dawn, shared a list of media organizations not paying their employees. The Nawa-e-Waqt group is the worst offender, with wages overdue for up to 11 months.

ISLAMABAD: Dawn correspondent Khaleeq Kiani has shared a list of TV channels, dailies, and news wires on twitter that have not paid employees their salaries for many months.

The Nawa-e-Waqt group tops the list of 16 media houses as it has not paid wages for the last 10 to 11 months, followed by Capital TV and daily Ummat where salaries are pending for the previous eight months. The list also includes Geo News, where wages are three months behind schedule.

In his tweet, Kiani said: “Defaulters' list: Nawa-e-Waqt Group tops the list.”

Others in the list include News One TV, local news wire INP, Public News, BOL TV, Channel 24, Azkar News, Channel 5, Sach TV, Jang, Daily Times, and Online, Jinnah.

When someone commented that Dawn is not on the list, a bitter Kiani retorted that the daily he works for is running the show by slashing 40 percent of staff salaries.
