Dawn cartoonist Feica suffers heart attack, hospitalized
Feica, known for his political cartoons at Dawn, suffered a heart attack and was admitted to Agha Khan Hospital. The Sindh government will fund his treatment.

KARACHI – Dawn’s political cartoonist Feica was hospitalized on Wednesday after suffering a heart attack.

Rafique Ahmed, his real name, was being treated at the Agha Khan Hospital, reports said.

The Sindh government has announced it will pay for Feica’s treatment.

Feica who studied at the National College of Arts has also worked for The Muslim, The Star, Hurriyat, and the Frontier Post.

It was at The Star where Feica’s career took off in the early 1980s. He also started freelancing with other publications like Dawn and the Herald and teamed up with Anwar Maqsood to do cartoons for Hurriyet, the group’s Urdu newspaper.

Feica joined Dawn in 1992.
