KARACHI—The Sindh High Court (SHC) Saturday suspended the Interior Ministry's notification of the cancellation of ARY News' no-objection certificate (NOC).
Appearing on behalf of regulator PEMRA, Advocate Shamsul Islam said the TV channel was spreading hatred. He asked the court to give the case three days before deciding the matter since this is a sensitive matter. He assured presenting shreds of evidence before the court.
However, ARY News's lawyer told the court that "ARY is operating under the rules and regulations," emphasizing that even before this, a negative campaign was started against the channel.
He said that if the TV transmission was not restored after the suspension of the notification, they would file a contempt of court petition.
The court issued notices to respondents for August 17.
