ISLAMABAD – The Sindh High Court Thursday ordered that BOL and Pak News transmission be allowed back on the air, suspending a PEMRA order of canceling the licenses of both channels.
Although the channels went off the air on cable networks around 5:00 pm Wednesday, they could be seen on the internet.
PEMRA chose the Press Freedom Day Wednesday to announce the cancellation of BOL News and Pak News licenses saying the Interior Ministry regretted giving security clearance to the company’s directors.
It said that directors Shoaib Ahmed Shaikh, Ayesha Shoaib Shaikh, Viqas Atiq and Sarwat Bashir were not given the required clearance.
