Cheques issued by Nawa-i-Waqt Group bounce, says former staffer
Former staff of Waqt News are without salaries as cheques issued by Nawa-i-Waqt Group have bounced. This follows the layoffs after the channel's closure.

ISLAMABAD – Cheques issued by Nawa-i-Waqat Group to employees rendered jobless following the closure of Waqt News Television have bounced, a former employee has claimed.

Matiullah Jan, a prominent presenter at the channel, took to Twitter to announce this.

“My colleagues from defunct Waqt News TV informed me that all the salary cheques issues by Nawaiwaqt group have bounced,” he said.

Mati was also among those fired.

In October last year, Waqt News sacked all staff and shut down its operations in Pakistan, ten years after it hit the airwaves.
