Capital TV is launching a new show called 'Aao Baat Karein' featuring renowned scholars. The program will discuss important societal issues and offer solutions.Summary
ISLAMABAD: Three prominent scholars and intellectuals, Muhammad Amir Rana (pictured), Dr Farzana Bari and Dr Khalid Masood are to start a literary program on Capital TV. The first program will be aired this Friday while the show will be broadcast regularly from 11pm to 12am Friday through Sunday. Speaking to JournalismPakistan.com, Rana said they would try to discuss issues the mainstream media normally tends to avoid for certain reasons. “We will be discussing issues pertaining to religious minorities, women rights, extremism and terrorism on our show and will also try to give a solution to these problems too,” he said. Rana said each program will have three segments: In the first segment we would introduce topic of the day and its importance, recorded experts' opinion will be included in the second segment and they will deconstruct the subject in the last segment. “This would be a first of its kind program and we hope people like it. We are also optimistic about our program’s success as we feel people are fed up with routine talk shows and current affairs programs,” he said. Amir Rana is a renowned security and counter-terrorism expert and writes a weekly column for Dawn. He is also Director Pak Institute for Peace Studies, an independent research institute and think tank in Islamabad.
