Capital TV denies beating reporter
Capital TV refutes claims that their reporter was assaulted in the managing director's office. The allegation follows the reporter's coverage of the EOBI corruption case.

ISLAMABAD: Capital TV has denied reports a reporter who broke the EOBI corruption story was beaten or threatened in the managing director’s office.

Newspaper reports, quoting the channel said Saturday that the reporter was called in to the office for a briefing in connection with the Supreme Court hearing of the EOBI case.

“He came to the office and then left. CCTV footage of his coming to the office and then leaving is available,” reports said.

The management was quoted as saying the registration of an FIR against Capital TV was part of a conspiracy hatched against them for breaking the EOBI story.
