BOL News anchor Jameel Farooqi arrested in Karachi
Jameel Farooqi, a prominent anchor at BOL News, has been arrested in Karachi. He faces allegations related to false claims about Shahbaz Gill's treatment in jail.

ISLAMABAD—BOL News anchor Jameel Farooqi has been arrested in Karachi for reportedly making a baseless claim about Shahbaz Gill, the chief of staff of PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

Islamabad Police had registered a case against him for claiming that Gill was raped as part of 3rd-degree torture by police. Gill remains in custody.

According to the FIR, Farooqi alleged that Gill was sexually abused in jail.

BOL News confirmed that Farooqi was taken into custody.
