Beenish Saleem leaves NewsOne to join PTV

ISLAMABAD—Anchor Beenish Saleem, known for hosting the program Seedhi Baat on NewsOne Television, announced today on X (formerly Twitter) that she is leaving the channel to join the state-run Pakistan Television (PTV). Saleem expressed her gratitude towards NewsOne’s Chairman, Chaudhry Aurangzeb, praising him for his continuous support of her team throughout her tenure.

She commended the working environment and the editorial freedom she experienced at NewsOne, highlighting how the channel's culture allowed her to express pro-state narratives while rejecting anti-state rhetoric. "From working conditions to editorial freedom, everything at NewsOne deserves praise," she said in her farewell statement.

Saleem also noted that her show Seedhi Baat consistently promoted a pro-state narrative, which aligned with her journalistic values. As she embarks on this new chapter, she will be hosting a program on PTV from Monday to Thursday at 8 pm.
