KARACHI: ARY News' core team seems to be in a bit of a quandary these days. "It's suddenly become very depressing because of the atmosphere of uncertainty," one staffer said after it was learned that Senior Executive Producer Farhan Reza, had decided to part ways with the channel.

He has reportedly joined DawnNews as Director Programming. Earlier it was reported that Owais Tohid, ARY’s Executive Director News, would be taking up that position.

Farhan Reza is regarded as a close Tohid aide since 2007 and had a strong editorial grip at ARY. Those that know him well say he knows how to convert a small or low-grade story into the talk of the town.

Farhan was a respected team leader in Geo English and at ARY. His exit has left the ARY newsroom in a bit of a fluster with staff worrying about their future.
