Ansar Naqvi's death saddens journalists, others
Ansar Naqvi, a respected figure in journalism, tragically died in a plane crash, prompting condolences from many in the industry and beyond. His contributions to media and the personal connections he fostered were highlighted by peers.

ISLAMABAD—Journalists, politicians, and well-wishers on Saturday condoled the death of director programming at 24 News, Ansar Naqvi in a plane crash, and expressed sadness and termed it a great loss.

Senior journalist Owais Tohid said in a tweet that he knew Naqvi since the launch of The News almost three decades ago.

He termed his relation with him a journey of journalist bonding.

"I did not know his journey would end so suddenly and tragic."

Journalist Faysal Aziz Khan said Naqvi's was a charismatic personality, saying he was part of the Geo and BOL launch teams.

Also, on Twitter, Shahbaz Zahid said that Naqvi's daughter was his colleague at Geo, saying her whole world came shattering down when she learned about the crash.

Naqvi was among those killed in the Pakistan International Airlines plane crash at Karachi's Model Colony near Jinnah International Airport on Friday.

Director News at 24 News, Mian Tahir Mehmood said Naqvi had progressive thinking and always had a smile on his face.

He was like a family member who always looked after his friends.

Analyst Nasim Zehra said Naqvi told him that he would leave on Friday as he had not visited his family for the last several months.

It is like some family member left you, she said and added that Naqvi was always there in case of any problem.

Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, Pakistan People's Party Senator Sassui Palijo, singer and human rights activist Shehzad Roy, journalists Mazhar Abbas, Munizae Jahangir, Abbas Nasir, Murtaza Solangi and others offered his condolences.
