Anchor Sami Abraham claims ARY News is still favored by the public despite efforts from Maryam Safdar to influence perception. The ongoing political dynamics illustrate the media's role in shaping public opinion.Summary
ISLAMABAD – Anchor Sami Abraham Thursday claimed that despite Maryam Safdar’s best efforts ARY News and The Reporters - the program that he hosts - were the people’s choices.
”Despite #Maryamsafdar best efforts..people's choice is #ARY and The Reporters,” he tweeted.
Although he did not elaborate on what those “best efforts” were, it is obvious he meant that Maryam was not supportive of the channel.
It is no secret that Maryam, daughter of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, runs the ruling PML-N’s propaganda media cell.
PML-N is widely believed to have given large sums of money to leading media houses and journalists to gain support.
ARY however has been largely anti-PML-N and the party has boycotted the channel. On the other hand Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf continues to boycott Jang-Geo Group. It claims the media house is biased and anti-Pakistan.
On Wednesday, former President Pervez Musharraf’s All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) also announced boycott of Jang-Geo Group.
