ISLAMABAD—ARY News anchor Mohammad Adil Abbasi has reportedly quit after the authorities shut down the channel this week.

Farhan Mallick, former director of news Samaa TV, took to Twitter, stating: "Anchor Adil Abbasi has resigned after coming under huge pressure by 'those who cannot be named'."

In response to the tweet, one of the followers commented: "He resigned voluntarily as he got better job offer. Job is arranged by "those who cannot be named" as he is in good terms with them."

Abbasi has been hosting a political talk show 'Aitaraz Hai" from Friday to Sunday on ARY News.
