Veteran journalist Anwaar laid to rest
Anwaar Feroze, a prominent journalist, passed away at 75 due to cardiac arrest. He was buried in Islamabad, where many attended his funeral.

ISLAMABAD: Veteran journalist Anwaar Feroze, 75, who died of cardiac arrest Tuesday (July 2) was buried at the H-8 Graveyard in Islamabad Wednesday.

A large number of journalists, friends and relatives attended the funeral.Feroze began his career with Daily Tameer and later worked as a correspondent of Daily Kohistan in Murree. However, the major part of his journalistic career was spent at Nawa-i-Waqt – an association lasting over 35 years.

Also, a prominent poet and columnist, he retired from the paper in 2011 but continued to write columns and poetry.

A collection of his poetry titled Sumandr Muztarib Hai (The Ocean is Restless) was published last year while a travelogue Naya Columbus (New Columbus) is to be published soon.

His sons Iftikhar Ahmed Khan, Sheharyar Khan and Waqar Imran are journalists. Sheharyar is the secretary of National Press Club, Islamabad.
