Senator Taj Afridi serves legal notice on GTV
Senator Taj Afridi has formally objected to GTV's broadcast of false information, claiming it harmed his business reputation. He has demanded compensation for the damage done.

ISLAMABAD—Senator Taj Muhammad Afridi has sent a legal notice of Rs2 billion to private news channel GTV, emphasizing that it broadcast an unconfirmed news based on a fake email address.

According to Senator Afridi, his legitimate businesses and reputation were damaged due to the false news.

The senator, in his legal notice, claimed that his business operations, enlisted in the FBR record, are in accordance with the law and Constitution of Pakistan.

"The news that has been aired on GTV about General Sales Tax is completely baseless and not based on facts," Senator Afridi said.

Reportedly, the DG FIA and the Chairman PEMRA have also been made parties in the legal notice served by the senator.
