PEMRA's stern warning to TV One
PEMRA issued a warning to TV One for airing scenes about black magic in violation of regulations. The channel must form an editorial committee to prevent future breaches.

ISLAMABAD – Electronic media regulator PEMRA Wednesday issued a stern warning to TV One for airing scenes about black magic in a drama on August 6.

The airing of content promoting black magic is strictly banned under PEMRA laws.

According to the relevant clause of the PEMRA Ordinance 2002 (Amendment) Act 2007, “A licensee shall not advertise or promote black magic, quackery or superstition.”

PEMRA said the channel had violated various provisions of the Ordinance as well as those of the Electronic Media Code of Conduct 2015.

A strict warning was issued to the channel with the directive that the management appoints an in-house editorial committee to avoid such violations in future.
