Najam Sethi's program fails to go on air
Geo Television's current affairs program Aapas Ki Baat featuring Najam Sethi did not air on schedule, raising concerns about possible censorship. The decision comes on the heels of a deadly suicide attack in Quetta, sparking rumors about its implications for the show's content.

ISLAMABAD – Geo Television’s popular current affairs program Aapas Ki Baat featuring analyst Najam Sethi was not aired Monday, promoting rumors it may have been censored.

The program is normally recorded at 7:00pm and aired Monday through Wednesday at 11:05pm. Muneeb Farooq hosts the program.

In the wake of Monday’s suicide blast in Quetta that killed 70 people in the volatile Balochistan province, it was rumored the program could have been dropped because Sethi’s comments may not have gone down well with the security agencies.

Instead of the program, Geo ran a news bulletin followed by commercials and national songs.

KEY POINTS:

  • Aapas Ki Baat not aired on Geo TV on Monday
  • Speculation of censorship after Quetta blast
  • Najam Sethi typically comments on current affairs
  • Program usually airs Monday through Wednesday
  • Geo replaced the show with news bulletins and songs
