Shocking remarks against Sindhis: PTV suspends Rizwan Razi

ISLAMABAD — Pakistan Television (PTV) on Tuesday suspended journalist Razi Razi, popularly known as Razi Dada, after he used derogatory language against the people of Sindh, referring to them as the “offspring of monkeys.”

Razi, who introduces himself as a journalist for PTV and Public News TV, made the remarks in a vlog on his YouTube channel Razi Nama, which has more than 289,000 subscribers. The video quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter), showing Razi using offensive language against Sindhis for opposing the construction of dams.

In its official suspension notice, PTV said:

“It has come to the notice of PTV management that you have made derogatory remarks regarding a particular ethnicity in your V-log, which has caused significant distress to a large number of people. This is against the spirit of national harmony and unity. Your services are hereby suspended, and you will no longer be required to appear on air on PTV till further orders.”

The notice, issued by Deputy Controller of Administration Muhammad Ibrahim, emphasized that Razi’s comments were inconsistent with PTV’s values.

Meanwhile, MNA Saira Bano from Sindh criticized Razi, alleging he was working in favor of the Sharif family. In a post on X, she wrote:

“This is what’s become of them since they tasted the jaggery of Jati Umra. It’s a matter of faith—otherwise, even their lineage could be questioned.”

She also shared the viral video clip in which Razi can be seen jumping on a sofa, mocking Sindhi protestors as being motivated by a monkey.
