Samaa cameraman beaten up by PTI workers

ISLAMABAD: A Samaa Television cameraman was beaten up by PTI activists on Sunday prompting immediate condemnation from party chief Imran Khan.

According to Samaa, cameraman Muhammad Tariq was filming the PTI protest at D-Square when attacked. "I strongly condemn the attack. The way these cameramen covered events earlier on deserves appreciation," Imran said from atop his container. He also promised action against the perpetrators.

On August 30 several media persons were attacked and brutally thrashed by Punjab Police, among them Samaa Television crew. Despite repeated efforts by Samaa, no FIR has been registered.
