Nine channels get notices for airing fake news of plane crash
Nine television channels have received notices from PEMRA for airing inaccurate information regarding a plane crash. They have seven days to respond or face penalties.

ISLAMABAD – Nine television channels have been issued show-cause notices by PEMRA for airing baseless news about a plane crash in Kallar Syedan near Rawalpindi.

The blundering news organizations Abb Takk, Waqt, Channel 5, Sach TV, 7 News, Aaj, Roze, NewsOne and Capital telecast the news between 8:00 pm- 9:00 pm on March 22.

The regulator said the channels had violated rules and regulations.

All have been given seven days to submit their replies and explain why a fine of Rs1million each not be slapped on them or their licenses canceled.
