Journalist shot and injured in Quetta

QUETTA —Unidentified armed men shot and injured Jamil Ahmed, a sub-editor with Daily Azadi, in Quetta on Friday. According to reports, the shooters attacked Ahmed as he was heading home, leaving him in critical condition. He was rushed to the local Trauma Center for urgent medical attention.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and no immediate claims of responsibility have been reported. The incident has sparked condemnation from journalists' unions, who have demanded a thorough investigation and the arrest of those responsible for the attack. The assault on Ahmed highlights ongoing concerns about the safety and security of journalists in the region.
