Investigative reporter Shahid Aslam quits The News, joins Dunya Group

LAHORE - Shahid Aslam, who worked for The News Investigation Cell as a special correspondent, has jumped ship and joined Dunya Group.

He will be the special correspondent of the media group’s investigation cell.

Based in Lahore, Aslam reported to Ansar Abbasi, the editor of The News Investigation Cell in Islamabad.

Before that, he was part of the reporting team of The News, Lahore. During his stint there, he came up with many scoops. He focused mainly on large-scale corruption, abuse of power, financial fraud, money laundering, cartelization, and real estate scams.

In a message, he expressed his indebtedness to his colleagues, friends, and bosses - Mayed Ali Syed and Ansar Abbasi - for helping him learn the basics of practical journalism and produce quality work.
