Express News cameraman injured in Karachi raid

KARACHI: Express News Television cameraman Waseem Mughal was injured Wednesday during clashes between the Rangers and MQM workers at Nine-Zero in Karachi.

The Rangers claimed to have arrested the killer of Geo News reporter Wali Babar from Nine-Zero, the headquarters of the MQM in Karachi. The killer identified as Faisal Mota had been awarded death sentence by the court in the murder case.

Babar was gunned down in the Liaquatabad area of Karachi on Jan 13, 2011, when he was returning home from his office.

Mughal was present on the spot along with other media persons to cover the Rangers raid at Nine-Zero.

Talking to the media, a Rangers spokesperson said that no one was killed during the raid but some unidentified men opened fire injuring an Express News cameraman.

Mughal is now stated to be in stable condition.
