Ansar Abbasi spots 'vulgarity and obscenity' on TV, calls on PEMRA to act
Journalist Ansar Abbasi condemned a dance number aired on Hum TV during Eid, labeling it vulgar. He urged the government and PEMRA to intervene against such content.

ISLAMABAD—Commenting on a dance number on Hum TV during Eid transmission, The News journalist Ansar Abbasi called on the government and regulator PEMRA to take every possible step against such "vulgarity and obscenity."

With his tweet in Urdu, he also tweeted a clip of the dance performance. In the tweet, he said under no circumstances, such vulgarity and obscenity should be allowed on any media.

He called on the government and PEMRA to take every measure to stop this vulgarity and obscenity. He also tagged President Arif Alvi and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhmmad Khan to his tweet

However, Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry, commenting on Abbasi's tweet, advised him to pick up the remote and change the channel. He then wondered why Abbasi looked for obscenity 24/7 on TV.
