Zahid Mazhar likely to return to Samaa
Zahid Mazhar is anticipated to return to Samaa TV, where he previously served as Controller News. He will replace outgoing Zahid Hussain as Director News.

ISLAMABAD: Zahid Mazhar, Director News at DawnNews Television is likely to return to Samaa TV where he was once Controller News.

Those aware of the development tell JournalismPakistan.com that Zahid will come in as Director News this time to replace Zahid Hussain who has reportedly resigned.

Insiders say that Owais Tohid, Executive Director News at ARY TV may join DawnNews. Zahid Mazhar started off at Express before finding his way on to the sports desk as a junior producer at Geo. He was later moved to the main desk in the same capacity. He then became a full-fledged producer and worked quite diligently to climb up the ladder.

But it was Samaa that shaped Zahid Mazhar and he rose from being a producer to Controller News. The swift rise to the top was credited to good people skills, hard work and ‘a touch of decency,’ his colleagues say.
