Save the Children launches Journalism Excellence Award
Save the Children has introduced a global award to honor outstanding journalism focused on child rights. This initiative commemorates the first Declaration of the Rights of the Child.

Save the Children has announced the launch of a global media award to honor excellence in journalism for child rights. This initiative marks the centennial of the first Declaration of the Rights of the Child, drafted by founder Eglantyne Jebb, and adopted by the League of Nations.

The competition invites professional journalists from around the world whose storytelling has significantly exposed child rights issues.

Eligible entries must be original and published or broadcast in a national, regional, or international media outlet between 31 July 2023 and 1 August 2024.

  • Each submission must include:
  • A synopsis and impact statement.
  • Credits for up to three individuals connected with the entry.

A letter from the media outlet certifying that the piece was published in their outlet and confirming the date of publication.
