ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has strongly condemned the brutal murder of Syed Mohammed Shah, a journalist based in Jacobabad, Sindh.
PFUJ Acting President Khalid Khokhar and Secretary General Arshad Ansari expressed deep shock and outrage over the killing, calling it a grim reminder of the dangers faced by journalists in Pakistan.
“We demand that the authorities take immediate and concrete actions to investigate this crime and perpetrator bring him to justice,” they said in a joint statement.
The PFUJ emphasized the urgent need for improved safety measures to protect journalists and media professionals across the country.
"We stand in solidarity with the family and colleagues of Syed Mohammed Shah, and pledge to continue advocating for journalists’ safety," the leadership stated.
They further urged the Sindh government to take serious steps to address the worsening security situation for journalists and media workers in the province.

پی ایف یو جے کے قائم مقام صدر خالد کھوکھر اور سیکرٹری جنرل ارشد انصاری نے اس ہولناک واقعے پر شدید صدمے اور غصے کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ یہ صحافیوں کو درپیش خطرات کی ایک سنگین یاد دہانی ہے۔
"ہم مطالبہ کرتے ہیں کہ حکام اس جرم کی فوری اور ٹھوس تحقیقات کریں اور مجرم کو انصاف کے کٹہرے میں لایا جائے،" انہوں نے مشترکہ بیان میں کہا۔
پی ایف یو جے نے صحافیوں اور میڈیا کارکنوں کے تحفظ کے لیے سیکیورٹی اقدامات کو بہتر بنانے کی فوری ضرورت پر زور دیا۔
"ہم سید محمد شاہ کے اہل خانہ اور ساتھیوں کے ساتھ مکمل یکجہتی کا اظہار کرتے ہیں اور صحافیوں کے تحفظ کے لیے اپنی جدوجہد جاری رکھنے کا عزم دہراتے ہیں،" پی ایف یو جے قیادت نے کہا۔
انہوں نے سندھ حکومت سے مطالبہ کیا کہ وہ صوبے میں صحافیوں اور میڈیا ورکرز کے لیے بگڑتی ہوئی سیکیورٹی صورتحال سے نمٹنے کے لیے سنجیدہ اقدامات کرے۔
