Farhan Mallick resigns from Samaa TV
Farhan Mallick has stepped down as the News Director at Samaa TV due to conflicts with the channel's owner. This comes after Aleem Khan's criticism of Imran Khan and his plans to change the channel's editorial stance.

ISLAMABAD—Farhan Mallick, Director of News Samaa TV, has resigned after differences with the channel's owner and former PTI leader Abdul Aleem Khan.

Reportedly, the former food minister of Punjab, Aleem Khan, was now not happy with the performance of Malik, a supporter of Imran Khan-led PTI.

Zafar Siddiqui launched Samaa TV in December 2007. However, last year PTI leader Aleem Khan acquired the channel for Rs3.56 billion.

Recently, Aleem Khan parted ways with PTI and had quit as a minister in the Punjab cabinet shortly after taking over Samaa.

This week, in a press conference, he strongly criticized Imran Khan.

After breaking away from PTI, Aleem reportedly has plans to review the channel's editorial policy.
