ISLAMABAD: Arshad Ansari (pictured) senior journalist and candidate of Journalist Group, was elected President of Lahore Press Club for the fourth time running by securing 989 votes. His opposite number Najam Ali Khan representing Progressive Panel bagged 473 votes. According to the results released by the election committee, Afzal Talib became the secretary getting 821 votes against his opponent Zahid Abid who clinched 617 votes. Shadab Riaz was elected the treasurer bagging 973 votes against his rival Amjad Usmani who secured 466 votes. Likewise, Nadeem Basra was elected vice president. Eight members were elected on the governing body - Marwa, Qamar Bhatti, Rizwan Khalid, Shoaib Aziz, Imran Sheikh, Ambreen Fatima, Afzal Chaudhry and Furqan Elahi.
