RAF Fellowship open for journalists from developing countries
The RAF Fellowship 2025 is open to full-time journalists from eligible developing countries, including Pakistan. Applicants aged 22 to 35 can apply to enhance their UN reporting skills.

The RAF Fellowship 2025 is now accepting applications from full-time journalists aged 22 to 35 from eligible developing countries including Pakistan and nations with economies in transition. This esteemed program allows participants to enhance their understanding of the United Nations and global issues, equipping them with invaluable reporting skills and insights.

Eligible applicants must be nationals of one of the listed countries and actively working as journalists. Those employed by international news outlets but covering UN-related topics relevant to their country of citizenship are also eligible to apply. Freelance journalists meeting the criteria and providing strong work samples will be considered. However, students and part-time journalists are not eligible.

Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English, as all discussions and briefings will be conducted in the language. The fellowship requires submission of a completed application form, a CV in English or French, six recent work samples related to UN issues, two reference letters, and documentation verifying press accreditation where applicable.

Television and radio journalists should submit their work samples via publicly accessible links or file-sharing platforms. Reference letters in languages other than English do not require translation but must include complete contact details for verification purposes.

The RAF Fellowship 2025 will be held from September to October, with the format—virtual, hybrid, or in-person—to be determined. Applications will be evaluated based on portfolio strength, relevance to UN reporting, audience reach, and efforts to maintain geographic and gender diversity.

Interested candidates must submit their applications online by completing the form and signing the declaration before submission.
