ISLAMABAD – Electronic media regulator PEMRA on Wednesday issued show-cause notices to DawnNews and Channel 24.
A PEMRA media release said that DawnNews maligned the credibility of the judiciary in the program Do Rai aired on April 21 in which the host Asad Raheem Khan passed derogatory remarks.
Channel 24 aired foul language and abusive comments in its program ‘Point of View with Dr. Danish’. In the show, one participant used bad words against the other.
Both channels are required to respond to the show-cause notices in writing and their officials to appear for a personal hearing on May 2.
