Al Jazeera Media Institute has opened 2025 fellowship applications for global journalists and researchers to advance ethical media innovation through research and newsroom experience in Doha.

DOHA – The Al Jazeera Media Institute (AJMI) has announced applications for its 2025 Fellowship Program, offering fully funded opportunities for journalists, researchers, and media scholars from the Global South.

The fellowships, detailed by OpportunitiesForYouth.org, aim to strengthen independent and ethical journalism through research, professional training, and newsroom immersion at Al Jazeera’s headquarters in Doha.

The three-month Al Jazeera Fellowship combines academic research and professional experience, allowing fellows to work alongside journalists, editors, and newsroom mentors. Selected participants will produce an original 7,000-word research paper focused on journalism innovation, ethics, or media transformation.

The program seeks to advance journalism excellence, promote digital media adaptation, and nurture responsible reporting practices globally.
