Al Jazeera Media Institute 2024 Journalism Fellowship Program open

The Al Jazeera Media Institute (AJMI) has opened applications for its 2024 Fellowship Program, inviting experienced journalists and researchers to deepen their expertise through a unique, hands-on opportunity. The fellowship, primarily aimed at professionals from the Global South, promotes quality journalism, innovative research, and enriched content creation.

The two-month fellowship focuses on journalism research. Participants are required to complete a 7,000-word paper on key industry topics. Fellows will engage in both remote and on-site phases, including direct collaboration with Al Jazeera editors at AJMI headquarters.

Applicants must have at least four years of experience and a background in media or social sciences. Required documents include a CV, a 1,000-1,500 word research proposal, three work samples, and two recommendation letters.

An AJMI committee and representatives from Al Jazeera's Arabic, English, and Digital Divisions will review applications based on relevance to AJMI's goals and journalism values.

This fellowship is a chance to contribute meaningful research to journalism while gaining unparalleled insights within the Al Jazeera Media Network.

Application deadline: November 30, 2024
