Veteran journalist Anwar Raza joins Public News as host of Public Pulse

ISLAMABAD—Veteran journalist Anwar Raza, former president and secretary-general of the National Press Club (NPC), has officially joined Public News as a program host. He has launched his new current affairs show titled Public Pulse, which aims to bring in-depth analysis and balanced perspectives on Pakistan’s political and social developments.

Raza, who has spent more than 25 years in journalism, began his inaugural program with a reflection on his long career in reporting and analysis. He noted that he had covered key turning points in Pakistan’s recent history, ranging from the era of Gen. Pervez Musharraf to the movement led by former Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, as well as the turbulence of successive political governments.

"From war to peace and from parliament to the public, I analysed everything in detail during my career," he said, highlighting the breadth of his experience.

The new program will feature Barrister Saad Rasul, a political and legal analyst, and Amna Sheikh. Together, the team will explore pressing national issues, offering a mix of legal, political, and journalistic insight.

Public Pulse is expected to add diversity to Public News’ current affairs lineup, providing audiences with seasoned analysis and critical debate on a wide range of topics.
