Troubles pile up for Dr. Shahid Masood
Dr. Shahid Masood, a political analyst, faces arrest after his bail plea was denied. He is accused of threatening a journalist and is in FIA custody for a separate case.

ISLAMABAD – An additional sessions judge on Wednesday rejected a pre-arrest bail plea by prominent political analyst Dr. Shahid Masood, and ordered his arrest.

Noor ul Amin, a journalist with Samaa TV, had filed an FIR against Masood for threatening and harassing him, and snatching his cell phone in the parking lot of Islamabad High Court last month.

Additional Sessions Judge Javed Iqbal Sipra heard the case.

Masood, who is with NewsOne Television, is already in the custody of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in a separate case relating to alleged misappropriation of funds when he headed Pakistan Television.

He was arrested in that case last week.
