Join our WhatsApp channelISLAMABAD—A treason case has been registered against two more journalists who are outside Pakistan—Sabir Shakir and Moeed Pirzada— and a former army officer Col (Retd) Syed Akbar Hussain, for provoking and instigating people leading to the violence on May 9.
The case has been registered by a citizen Majid Mehmood, who, in this request, maintained that the three, through their vlogs and social media posts provoked people into violence against the military installations. He also alleged that the three, as agents of the hostile intelligence, were working on a conspiracy to spread unrest in Pakistan.
Earlier, a treason case was registered against journalists Shaheen Sehbai and Wajhat S. Khan, along with two former army officers, Adil Raja and Syed Haider Mehdi.
Later, Moeed Pirzada tweeted: "This combined with the FIRs against Wajahat Saeed Khan (New York) & Shaheen Sehbai (Washington) makes it clear that these bogus FIRs (registered 35 days after May 9, 2023) are not being registered because of what any one did or said (as was being argued against Maj. Adil Raja Sb) but through a well thought out script/plan that aims to intimidate & silence all remaining critics of Pakistan's military controlled regime from across the free world (UK, US and Canada etc)."
