ISLAMABAD – The Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) on Thursday protested the continual delay in payment of salaries to Geo TV staff.
The protest took place outside the Geo offices and the protesters broke their fasts out on the road.
Afzal Butt, President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) warned that if the Geo managers did not immediately pay off salaries, they would hold protests outside the channel’s offices across the country.
RIUJ President, Mubarak Zeb Khan said the union would protest against all those news organizations not disbursing salaries on time.
Secretary-General RIUJ, Ali Raza Alvi announced that on Friday, the union will protest outside the offices of BOL News in Islamabad.
