RIUJ starts data collection on economic condition of journalists

ISLAMABAD - The Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) has started a documentation drive for collecting data on demographics and the social and economic conditions of journalists.

A media release said that three Forms - A, B and C, will be distributed among journalists. In Form A, basic information will be sought from each journalist. It will be noted in a master register with a photograph. On the basis of this information, PFUJ cards will also be issued to all members for the year 2019-2020.

Form B will seek information regarding finances, demographics, and health. On the basis of this information, RIUJ will work to influence government decisions, especially regarding early finalization of 8th Wage Board Award.

RIUJ will also ensure facilities like registration with EOBI and the Workers’ Welfare Fund. The data collected through Form B will remain strictly confidential.

The data collected through Form C will be used for developing a profile of each journalist (100-200 words) with a picture, which will be uploaded onto the RIUJ website. The last date for collection of forms and submission is November 26.
