RIUJ resolution calls for forensic audit of media houses
The Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists has called for a forensic audit of news organizations due to ongoing financial issues. This resolution was passed during a protest at Geo TV offices.

ISLAMABAD – Following large-scale layoffs and wage delays, the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) on Tuesday passed a resolution calling for a forensic audit of news organizations.

The union announced this during a protest in front of Geo TV offices over the organization’s continual delay in paying staff wages.

RIUJ Finance Secretary Asghar Chaudhry presented the resolution that calls on the government and the Supreme Court to have a forensic audit conducted of media houses for the past five years.

The union members unanimously passed the resolution.
