ISLAMABAD—Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said that Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa had termed fake news and disinformation while addressing the Defence Day function a threat to national security.
In a tweet, the minister stated that the analysis of COAS was based on truth and reality. He said that the government planned to introduce Pakistan Media Development Authority (PMDA) to deal with such threats.
He mentioned that the biggest threat to freedom of expression was yellow journalism.
