ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has shown extreme anger and displeasure over the unjustified layoffs of several journalists and media workers associated with Dawn.
PFUJ President Shahzada Zulfiqar and Secretary-General Nasir Zaidi condemned the Dawn management in solid words, terming the decision "unjustified, irresponsible, and anti-journalists."
They said that Dawn had always been journalist and media workers friendly newspaper. "However, current management is persuading "anti-workers" policies," it emphasized.
"It is the unbelievable decision of Dawn group that with a stroke of pen several journalists have been fired," the PFUJ regretted, warning that "if the decision is not reverted then PFUJ reserves the right to stage protest in front of Dawn office in every city."
Reportedly, many journalists and workers have been terminated from Lahore, Faisalabad, and Karachi without any reason or justification.
