PFUJ calls for restoration of Daily FIR declaration

ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has criticized the deputy commissioner’s decision to cancel the declaration of Islamabad-based newspaper Daily FIR.

PFUJ President Shahzada Zulfiqar and Secretary-General Nasir Zaidi have called on the deputy commissioner and chief commissioner to withdraw the cancelation order immediately.

“Media is a watchdog of society and exposes corruption at all levels. We want immediate restoration of Daily FIR, as it provides vital information to people of Islamabad and job opportunities to local journalists,” they stated.
