ISLAMABAD - The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has sought clarification from Geo Network after transmission of all their channels including Geo News remained suspended from 11:42pm on March 30 to 11:57am on April 1.
Under PEMRA laws, a licensee cannot cease or suspend transmission without force majeure or without the prior approval of the authority. Besides the flagship Geo News, transmission of the network's other channels - Geo Entertainment, Geo Kahani, Geo Tez and Geo Sports also remained suspended.
PEMRA said its Complaint Call Center had received several queries from viewers following the sudden suspension of transmission.
