PEMRA blocks ARY and BOL for three days

ISLAMABAD—Regulator PEMRA has banned ARY News and BOL News for three days for not using the time-delay mechanism, as asked.

PEMRA said Thursday that it had asked all channels to apprise the authority about their editorial and time-delay systems. Only after submissions would it decide on allowing channels to air live or with a time delay.

The regulator pointed out that both ARY and BOL had committed violations. It said that the channel's officials did not appear before PEMRA and only submitted their written responses.
