QUETTA – On the 9th death anniversary of journalist Khadim Hussain Shaikh, gunned down on 14 April 2008 in Hub district, his family still awaits justice.
Shaikh, a former secretary general of Hub Press Club, was murdered in Sakran area and his colleague Ishaq Seelro was injured.
Shaikh’s family is living a miserable life since he was the sole bread earner. His children had to drop out of school. No support has been extended by the provincial government or the journalist bodies.
He left behind a wife, three sons, and two daughters. The deceased was his parents’ only son.
Shaikh was the editor in chief of Daily Hub News and bureau chief of Khabrain newspaperand Channel 5. He was also a district correspondent for Sindh TV in Hub.
The Hub Press Club is observing his anniversary Friday.
