News Investigation Cell has a new member
Waseem Abbasi has returned to Pakistan after five years in Brunei to join The News investigation cell. He will serve as a special correspondent under Ansar Abbasi.

ISLAMABAD: Waseem Abbasi, a journalist who spent more than five years pursuing his career in Brunei Darussalam has returned home to join the investigation cell of The News in Islamabad.

He teams up with Umer Cheema, Usman Manzoor and others and will work under Editor Investigations Ansar Abbasi as a special correspondent.

In Brunei, Waseem worked for the The Brunei Times as Editor Asia since October 2007.

He began his career with The Nation in 2001 covering politics, parliament and diplomatic activities and later in 2005 joined Geo TV as a senior reporter/assignment editor. He also had a stint with Geo English.

  • He has over five years of journalism experience in Brunei.
  • Previously worked for The Nation and Geo TV.
